Group Currencies

Circles adds Group Avatars/Currencies to aggregate socio-economic value without geographic bounds. Group tokens do not mint over time; supply depends on collateral deposits from trusted tokens.

Group participation is via trust (not formal membership). To receive/accept group tokens you trust the group address; the group trusts which token types it accepts as collateral. Minting is permissionless for anyone holding tokens the group trusts: deposit personal CRC, other group tokens, or any Circles tokens via groupMint(). Collateral sits in the group treasury and can be redeemed later by burning group tokens via groupRedeem().

This is collateralization, not a swap—your original tokens remain in the treasury. Trust works both ways: you trust the group; the group trusts collateral types. This makes group currencies more stable and fungible for payments/markets by backing them with diversified Circles tokens.

Rust SDK is read-only; group mint/redeem code samples will follow once runner support exists.
